Who can apply? Most students apply when they are high school sophomores and juniors and participate in KALEO during the summer between their junior and senior years.
Character and Capacity of Participants: KALEO builds upon students who have a living and growing relationship with Christ. Each participant should have encountered a call to salvation in Christ and have a desire for grow in His image through discipleship and exhibit the potential for leadership and ministry.
How many student participants will be involved? Up to 30 student participants (15 female, 15 male with an attempt at an equal distribution of junior and senior high school students).
Nomination of Student Participants: Local church congregations, pastoral leaders, and mentors can nominate students as candidates for KALEO. Nominations can be made for participants who have just completed their sophomore or junior year in high school. Nominations should be presented by mid-February. Nominator forms can be submitted online or printed and mailed.
When is the KALEO immersion program? The One Month Immersion Experience takes place in the summer starting in June. The 2019 KALEO June 1 - June 30th
When are applications due? Applications coming from within the United States must be postmarked no later than March 18th. Applications are free; there is no charge to apply.
When will I know if I have been accepted? We take as many qualified applicants as we can into the program but do not always have room for everyone. Admission decisions will be made by March 20th.
How much does it cost? The student fee is only $2,000 for applications received by January 31, and we ask each student's participating church to contribute an additional $500. This is a huge discount from the actual cost to run the program and covers all program fees, travel (including overseas airfare), room, and board during the one month immersion.
