Leadership Development Greenhouses
Adolescents are in a crucial stage of developing identity through an interaction with the world around them. A student’s ecology and life experiences foster space to explore metaphysical questions: Where are they, Who are they, What are the problems, What are the solutions, What is my purpose? The complex interactions within and between various micro-systems within an ecology can inhibit or enhance development of identity. KALEO is an intentional effort to cultivate learning environments conducive for practical learning and formation of identity, critical biblical inquiry, and preparation for Christian service.
Duration: One Week
The participants encounter growth and identity formation through participation in the immersion ecologies created by the wilderness camping/hiking immersion. The Wilderness Program takes groups and individuals into the wilderness for discipleship, outdoor education, and guided adventures. We call our programs courses because they're driven by education and developing the individuals, rather than being just a mountain-top experience.

Occupational Ministry Sites are locations where we do occupationally specific ministry that correlates with career, academic, or person interests of the participant. By working alongside our full-time missionary staff in these focused environments – such as dentistry, agriculture, and micro-finance – our short-term participants are able to come together cross-culturally to encounter God, share the Good News, disciple and serve the poor.
